Densification and grain growth mechanisms of Yttria-Stabilized Zirconia sintered by Spark Plasma Sintering are investigated. trajectories four commercial submicronic powders with different average particle sizes yttria amounts have been established sintering regimes determined. determined in the regime where densification is occurring without using a model derived from hot-pressing. Grain conventional power law ceramics fully densified. occurs boundary sliding accommodated an in-series interface-reaction/lattice diffusion cations or overlapping surface for tetragonal stabilized zirconia dislocation climbing zirconia. A normal each ceramic, all composed single phase, contrary to two-phased obtained literature segregation at boundaries.
